The Buxco School and La Vogue Salon team up to provide Locks of Love, an organization that provides hairpieces to children suffering hair loss condition or medical hair loss.

Students and teachers at Murray Avenue School will donate their hair to help “Locks of Love” for the children who suffer hair loss. The organization (Locks of Love) fills a unique need using the donated hair to provide the highest quality hairpieces and wigs to children.

Dayna Shain, Salon La Vogue owner in Southampton said “This is the fifth year they’ve done this and from three the first year to 15 this year”.

She says the kids call it a gift from the heart and they do it around Valentine’s Day. The schools got involved when the teacher wanted to honor a friend who contracted a cancer. “Every year when we do the assembly, they see other girls, their peers, getting their hair cut and then they seem to be inspired and saying you know what I want to do something that I can help another child and make them feel beautiful.”
