Advice
Greg Soule, the public affairs spokesperson for the Transportation Security Administration said even the clips are small they may still detect the metal with the use of metal detector when you go through security airlines. But you can request them for a private screenings.

Be confident. You should talk to the security officer in the checkpoint and ask to be screened privately. Then, you will be taken from public view and checked with a hand wand and other screening techniques. If the concerns has been checked and clips are detected, a visual inspection may have to be done to resolve the alarm.

However, you can bring a physician note explaining your condition. But, they are not accepted because of concerns about the fraudulent documents.
