The Story
Three years ago, I had a nice head of shiny white hair (dry, weak and dull brown). It is also falling out. Even didn’t used hair dye, had perms or used any harsh chemicals in my hair and never smoke or drunk alcohol.

I have been in medical doctors and five dermatologists. I was diagnosed with androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness) and currently taking prednisone but still getting worse.

Possible to stop the hair loss

There are two drugs which are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat this type of hair loss.

1. Minoxidil
2. Prednisone

Minoxidil (Rogaine) is available for men and women. It may slow or stop hair loss and stimulate new hair growth. But it can take up to six months before results are noticed and balding will return as soon as the products is stopped. It must be used twice daily.

Prednisone, a corticosteroid is not accepted hair loss treatment because of the high risk of side effects. You have to go back to the doctors and ask why you are taking it and request that you begin tapering off the dosage until you can stop safely.

Hair Transplant its good but they are expensive and are not a guarantee fo hair growth.

Miranda Gordon had plenty of hair and she decided to donate it to charity for worthy cause. After four years without having haircut.

Gordon, 10 year old from Houghton, she had 10 inches hair long had been donated at Xpressions in Handcock Friday afternoon. She said “I was hearing about it, and I wanted to try it.”

Becky Gordon, her mother said Miranda was also motivated by her late grandfather Andy, who died of cancer.

Becky said “I’m very, very proud. That’s the kind of person she is though.., she’s hoping that the kids will be happy by having more hair.

When her hair grows out, Gordon said she might try it again.

In the meantime, there’s another upside.

“I told her she’s going to run even faster when she plays sports,” Becky Gordon said. “Less drag.”

Kelly Osbourne, 24 year old star engaged to model Luke Worrall decided to overhaul her image with a drastic makeover but it was devastated when the dye didn’t take to her hair properly.

She explained to FOX News: “I went to dye my hair blonde from black and it was going really well and then something happened during that last process where they put the toner on and it made all my hair fall out and I was just like, ‘Cut it!”

Kelly now a white-blonde cropped hairstyle, which she insists she is happy with. The TV’s star love of her new look and short hairstyle is in marked contrast to her comments about Victoria Beckhams (former Spice Girls member) pixie crop, which she blasted when Victoria debuted it last year.

Kelly said “I think she’s too skinny to have hair that short. You need to have something soft about your face. Victoria looks too immaculate and skinny.”

Alyssa Castro has been donated her 10 inches hair to Locks of Love or Charity. Alyssa, a sophomore at the Alverno High School private school in Sierra Madre, took it in stride. After spent years growing her hair long, it was for a good cause.

She said “Hair grows back, I feel really great.”

Castro and 63 student Alverno students donated to locks of their hair to Locks of Love last week. Locks of Love, the non-profit organization that provides hairpieces into wigs for children suffering hair loss, primarily those undergoing cancer treatment.

Alverno’s Head of School Ann Gillick said students have tended to support the program - 50 students donated about 400 inches of their hair when it was held there in 2007. Gillick herself chopped off 11 inches of her hair that year.

“It took a while to get it back,” she said.

Last week, the 64 students donated more than 600 inches of hair to Locks of Love.

Alverno’s Pastor Chris McGuiness, who organized the event, said the school has lost a student and a faculty member to cancer, and he himself is a cancer survivor.

“What other way is there to support someone than by giving a part of yourself?” he said of the program.

Stacy Cunningham,a stylist at Diva Style in Altadena, donated her time cutting and styling for the event. For some of the girls who donated their locks, it was an emotional experience - parting with their long hair was difficult, she said.

Elisa Hernandez, 18, sat in the chair and, after conferring with Cunningham, decided to have 8 inches taken off, leaving her hair just above her shoulders. She said donated it to Locks of Love in honor of her mother, who is undergoing chemotherapy for lung cancer.

Hernandez said “I didn’t tell her I was going to do this, but I don’t think she will be mad.”
