PharmaCogenomics Research and Development innovator PharmaGenoma, Inc. and HairDX LLC, introduce genetic hair loss test in Japan for predicting the risk of male and female hair loss.

Today announced an exclusive agreement with Aderans Company to introduce in Tokyo the breakthrough tests starting on March 1, 2009. The HairDX test kit is listed with Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) as Class I medical device.

The agreement between Aderans and HairDX’s makes the sole Japanese revolutionary genetic tests and expands Aderans leadership in the hair care and medical fields.

The Palomar Medical Technologies Inc., a hair removal products maker, posted the loss of their revenue in the global economy drove down sales, the company said.

The Burlington, Mass - based (Nasdaq: PMTI) company reported a net loss of $420,116 in the fourth-quarter. The company reported of $3.5 million profit during the year earlier period.

Nearly 46%  loss came as revenue $13.3 million, compared to $24.5 million during the same period year of 2007.

In year of 2007, the company recorded a profit of $20.5 million. For the year Palomar reported a loss of $68,165.

According to Joseph P. Caruso, CEO of Palomar said in news release “The decrease in reveneue across the sector has been severe and swift, driven by the inability of many prospective customers to obtain financing and prompting others of delay their capital equipment purchases until the economic conditions improve”.

The Buxco School and La Vogue Salon team up to provide Locks of Love, an organization that provides hairpieces to children suffering hair loss condition or medical hair loss.

Students and teachers at Murray Avenue School will donate their hair to help “Locks of Love” for the children who suffer hair loss. The organization (Locks of Love) fills a unique need using the donated hair to provide the highest quality hairpieces and wigs to children.

Dayna Shain, Salon La Vogue owner in Southampton said “This is the fifth year they’ve done this and from three the first year to 15 this year”.

She says the kids call it a gift from the heart and they do it around Valentine’s Day. The schools got involved when the teacher wanted to honor a friend who contracted a cancer. “Every year when we do the assembly, they see other girls, their peers, getting their hair cut and then they seem to be inspired and saying you know what I want to do something that I can help another child and make them feel beautiful.”

Two Newell teenagers cut their hair and donated to Locks of Love. They recently made personal sacrifices the some poeple might not expect from middle school girls. The donated hair might to help others.

Kennedy Finck and Katie Petts donates their hair more than 45 inches of hair over two years to Locks of Love, non-profit organization that make wigs for children with hair loss condition.

Kennedy Finck said “Last year, I went to a salon and hairdresser told me why not to cut 10 inches or more and hair could be donated to Locks of Love.”Then, the next time, a few weeks ago, I decided to cut my long hair to help for ailing children. She said she beat her personal record as 17 inches by giving up just over 18 inches. She had plans to donate her hair again next year and has hopes for breaking her record.

Kattie Petts was inspired to donate her hair to Locks of Love by her mother, Diane, who also growing out her hair to donate.

Katie said “It is very important to make a donation of hair because of all the kids that are losing their hair every day. There are a lot of kids who lose their hair to cancer and I want to help them feel better by showing them Jesus’ love. I know I would want someone to care enough about me if I was in that position.”

She said “Long hair is fun to play with and style, it was hard to adjust to short hair that even cant be put in a ponytail.” Katie plans on doing every year too. “It was very hard to let go of your long hair, but cutting the hair as a donation - a cycle, why not? I’ve been blessed with my long hair, a God’s gift for me then to help others.”

Locks of Love is a non-profit organization to make a ponytails, wigs for children with medical conditions — hair loss.
